Snapp School

I thought I would share with you a wonderful math resource for parents.
SnappSchool sends out e-mails that break down 4th grade math concepts using pictures and examples.
This is great to either brush up on your math skills (not that you need it!) or use it to re-explain math concepts to your 4th grader.  There newsletters often include web resources for your student to check out and practice the skills with.  Although it doesn't follow exactly where we are in our math book or all the methods of Everyday Mathematics, it really is an excellent resource!

You can subscribe to there newsletter by clicking here!

Visiting Jamestown

In class today, we "visited" Jamestown, Virginia.

Here is the website that we used to hear about Jamestown and John Smith.  There are a few games on the website as well.

Here is another game where students have to decide how to set up their own colony: http://www.historyglobe.com/jamestown/

And one more where students can explore Jamestown-

Niagara Falls

We started our tour of the Northeast Region.
Today we visited Niagara Falls.

Here is a live webcam of the Niagara Falls:

We are interested to see if the webcam shows the lights
at night like we saw in this picture:
